Public terms of use

These terms explain the relationship between public users and the Proactive Billboards platform. Separate terms apply to businesses and commercial partners.

1. The platform’s role

Proactive Billboards provides local business discovery, profile, enquiry, messaging, review, offer and event features. Unless a checkout explicitly says otherwise, the platform is not the supplier of work advertised by a listed business and is not a party to the contract between a customer and that business.

Verification and recommendation information helps comparison but is not a guarantee of workmanship, conduct, price, availability or suitability. You remain responsible for deciding what checks, quotes and contractual terms are appropriate for your job.

2. Accounts and eligibility

  • Provide accurate account information and keep it current.
  • Protect sign-in details and tell support promptly if access may be compromised.
  • Use only accounts you are entitled to control and do not evade a suspension or restriction.
  • Accept the version of the terms presented during registration or purchase.
  • A person who cannot legally accept these terms must use the service only through an appropriately authorised person.

3. Public access and payments

The current public access mode, price, protected features and payment type are shown before purchase. Access can be free, one-off, recurring, invite-only or disabled according to platform settings.

A platform access payment does not pay for local trade work. Promo codes, complimentary access, cancellations and refunds follow the terms shown for that order and the refund information published by the platform. Statutory rights are not excluded.

4. Search, enquiries and business contact

  • Search information and availability can change; confirm important details directly with the business.
  • Provide an honest description and job location, sharing personal information only when necessary.
  • Send an enquiry only to businesses you genuinely wish to consider.
  • Do not use messaging for abuse, spam, fraud, unlawful activity or unrelated solicitation.
  • A business can accept or decline an enquiry, and the platform does not promise a response or booking.

5. Content, reviews and reports

You retain responsibility for content you submit and confirm that you have the right to share it. You grant the platform the permissions reasonably needed to store, display, moderate and operate that content within the service.

Reviews must follow the review policy. Reports and disputes are handled using the relevant policy and evidence available. Private evidence is not automatically shared with the other party.

6. Acceptable use

  • Do not impersonate another person or business, misrepresent a connection or submit fabricated evidence.
  • Do not scrape, probe, overload, reverse engineer or bypass security and access controls.
  • Do not publish unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, threatening or privacy-invasive material.
  • Do not manipulate reviews, referrals, offers, payments, search signals or platform analytics.
  • Follow the community guidelines and any feature-specific instructions.

7. Availability and platform action

Features may change, pause or become unavailable for maintenance, safety, legal or operational reasons. Where practical, material changes are communicated through the service.

The platform may restrict content, messaging, transactions or account access when reasonably required to enforce these terms, protect users, investigate risk or comply with law. Significant actions should be recorded and an appeal route provided where the applicable policy allows.

8. Responsibility and legal rights

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits your mandatory consumer or data-protection rights. Any other limitations applicable to a paid service must be stated clearly in the terms accepted at purchase.

A customer and business are responsible for agreeing the scope, price, timing, contract and payment for the work between them.

9. Changes and contact

The platform records the version and acceptance date for terms that require acceptance. Material changes are presented through an appropriate notice or renewed acceptance where required.
